Change is Scary, but it can be beautiful too!

We have always been hearing all our life that, change is the only constant in life, how ironic, change and constant together in one sentence. Our own beloved Shri Krishna in Shrimad Bhagwat Gita has said, “परिवर्तन ही संसार का नियम है” Change is the law of life. We all have been through this process every now and then, willingly, and unwillingly.

The other day, I had a conversation with a friend of mine who had to move to Chennai due to a job requirement. This move from Pune to Chennai was a big change as it was moving to a new place, new environment, and new faces, it almost changes everything for her indeed a transformative experience that affected almost every aspect of her life. Initially, she was scared, although she didn’t openly admit it. Sensing her restlessness, I respected her space and allowed her to process her emotions. As the departure date came closer, the anxiety of relocating to an unfamiliar place began to weigh on her. Despite the increased pressure, she remained determined and decided to confront her fears head-on. Adjusting to a new environment proved to be incredibly challenging. The weather and food habits in Chennai were very much different from what she was habitual to in Pune or in Maharashtra. Adapting to their food preferences was particularly difficult, as she would crave her beloved chapati bhaji, no matter how good the food there may be in the end our own authentic food only satisfies our cravings. But anyhow she has no option but to get used to it. Although the change was very difficult still, she refused to give up. Fortunately, she got to know that her stay in Chennai would only last for a month. But in all this situation she embraced the opportunity to explore the city, meet new people, and witness their culture and heritage. Which initially seemed a scary experience but became one of the most beautiful chapters of her life. Despite the ongoing challenges and fears she faced during this period of change; she recognized the intrinsic beauty that emerged from embracing the unknown.

With all this, I am trying to convey that, change can be intimidating, but it also possesses the potential for beauty, i.e., change is scary, but it can be beautiful too. As we accept it, it becomes a defining aspect of who we are. Despite its initial scariness, it has the power to shape us into a better version of ourselves. Her experience serves as a reminder that even though change may evoke anxiety, restlessness, and nervousness, it can lead to some of the most memorable and transformative experiences in our lives.

We all go through various such changes every now and then in life, even the minor changes which we aren’t even aware of which mostly go unnoticed, but we must always remember that these changes are shaping us in a better way. Whether a big or even a minor change is adding some value to our life, so I know Change is scary, but so is life. But we don’t stop living it right so, why should we avoid change then? Accept it, adapt it experience it, and move ahead in life, and trust me after all this you will always find a better version of yourself and I m so sure that you will absolutely love it and you will be proud of yourself for going through it and growing through it.
